Webkit, MPlayer and Storyboard … together at last!
Last week was just one of those times when it seemed that everything was all coming together at the same time and progress is moving ahead in leaps and bounds.
Early in the week Rodney integrated WebKit via the Storyboard Embedded Engine external buffer API, allowing users to quickly assemble a user interface around an integrated web browser.
Not satisfied with one awesome external buffer demo, Brian took the mplayer code and integrated it into a Storyboard application too!
This is pretty great work, but what makes it all even better is that using the Storyboard development environment I can just drop in a couple of external buffer render controls and I can build a web browsing, media playing application in just a few minutes!
As we’re getting in the habit of saying … super shiny!
Thomas

so you’re heading the finishing line and it is time to get a name for the baby, for that one that is build from source and also for the other
as you said before: “naming is hard to do”
and you will need a good name to do some advertising.
Very nice. Thanks for this.
Can you provide more information on this? So far the info in your post is impressive . In the mean while I think im gonna stick around and read about 3 more of your posts. Toodles
Sure, more information is now readily available by obtaining a free copy of the Storyboard software:
http://www.cranksoftware.com/products/eval.php
In there you will find more details about Storyboard controls and how external buffers can be used to include other program content into your display.
